There's nothing more enjoyable than creating something out of nothing. Compositing images is a long-time passion of mine so I use it in my personal art and professional career. In meetings there are moments when a client will say, "that's not possible". That's when I say, "watch this."
The Art of Compositing is a Balance Between Artistic Expression and Technical Know How
There is a lot of technique involved in compositing. You need to understand composition, lighting, shading, blending modes, resolution and the capabilities of your software and hardware configurations. When you have all of those in place and balanced, that's when magic is created and an image gets brought to life.

Lifestyle Photoshoots
There's always an undefined factor in any photoshoot. The wardrobe doesn't fit, the model was late, craft services didn't bring a vegan option or in this photo's case, ancient Egypt needed to be assembled. It was cloudy with winds gusting close to 20 MPH. You'd never know this image was taken days after a music festival, steps littered in trash, wardrobe, hair and makeup all over the place. Its all in the edit!
Using various techniques such as frequence separation, multi layer blending, Camera Raw editing, and good old fashioned air brushing, this lifestyle ancient Egypt photo came to life.

In order to sell your product you need to make your product appealing to the consumer. A well trained photo compositer can make a final image out of straight up mess.

This project was a chance in a lifetime to work with some of the biggest names in all of nerd culture. Marvel, DC and Doctor Who! I was like a kid in a candy store. I love these characters and this project really stands out as one of my greatest accomplishments. All photos were shot in studio and composited into scenes using a mixture of photos, illustrations and digital manipulation.
